
Konyak Union (KU) has extended its appreciation to the State Government, especially the chief secretary and the home commissioner, for officially recognizing the “Konyak Lao-ong Mo” (Post Harvest festival) and in declaring September 28 as a restricted holiday for all the Konyak employees.
In a press release, president KU S. Manlip Konyak and general secretary Honang M. Konyak stated that the prompt response from the state government showed its dedication and efficiency adding “such attitude/gesture should be inculcated by every bureaucrat in the State machinery.”
Therefore, KU has declared September 28 and 29 as the official dates for the celebration of Konyak Lao-ong Mo and appealed/ directed the entire units of KU to observe the proposed harvest festival in accordance to the norms and with thanks giving. While informing that all institution and offices within the Konyak jurisdiction should remain closed on September 28 and should continue henceforth, KU has requested all the institutional heads and HODs to strictly adhere to the directives of the Konyak Union (KU) without fail.
Also, KU has directed all the Konyak employees within the state of Nagaland to abstain from attending offices on September 28 and appealed to all the departmental heads to consider such cases on account of the Konyak Lao-ong Mo.
Meanwhile, KU stated it would be observing Konyak Lao-ong Mo on September 28 at Mon Town and has requested all area units to positively take part on the said event wherein participation and competition would be held Area wise/units.
