Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Maongwati Aier along with the Joint Forum of GBs and DBs Dimapur district today attended worship service at the Tangkhul Baptist Church, Diphupar. Speaking on the occasion, DC appealed to the gathering to surrender to Jesus Christ in order to enjoy peace of mind, body and soul. “Men can give us peace for a short period but Jesus gives us peace permanently and at eternal peace is only given by God”.
Aier also stressed on the practice of forgive and forget and the love for enemies which Christians should adopt. On the present scenario he elucidated that today people were living in a restless generation and therefore people should respond to the call of Jesus Christ for peace, rest and comfort.
The programme was chaired by Rev Joshua Zimik, pastor, TBC Diphupar. The Tangkhul Baptist Church, Diphupar expressed gratitude to Maongwati Aier, DC Dimapur and Pikuto Shohe, Convenor, Joint Forum of GBs andDBs Dimapur for attending the worship service and further believed that such initiative would bring the different communities closer.
