Results of the by-election to Ward-13 of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) and Ward-8 of Tuensang Town Council (TTC) held on September 5 were declared Monday with the NPF and Independent bagging the DMC and TTC seats respectively.
NPF candidate Yanger Imchen won the by-election to Ward-13 of DMC by a margin of 1070 votes over his rival Wapang Walling of the Congress. Of the 4035 votes cast out of the total 6033 votes, Yanger polled 2522 and Wapang 1452, while 63 votes were found invalid. Independent candidate S. Pefhie won the by-election to Ward-8 of TTC defeating Congress candidate Cheye. Pefhie secured 1189 against Cheye’s 869.
