Two bills introduced

Nagaland Value Added Tax (Amendment) Ordinance 2008 and the Societies Registration (Nagaland Third Amendment) Bill 2008 were introduced in the state assembly Tuesday respectively by state chief minister, Neiphiu Rio and home minister, Imkong L. Imchen. The two bills will be taken up for consideration and passing on September 11, the Speaker informed.
Besides, Assembly Committee reports were also presented during the session viz 85th Internal Working Rules of PAC (2008-09) 27th report by Chairman PAC, Vikho-u Yhoshü; twenty seven report on action taken by the government on the Observation and Recommendation contained in the 4th Report on Nagaland Pulp & Paper Company Ltd. Tuli under the Department of Industries & Commerce by Chairman, Committee on Public Undertakings, Neikiesalie Kire and Report on expenditures of Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) and the attempted withdrawal of Rs. 8,09,26,000/- by miscreants by Chairman, Committee on Government Assurances, K.V. Pusa. Minister for PHED, Dr. Ngangshi K. Ao presented the Annual Administrative Report of the PHED department for the year 2007-08.
Meanwhile, parliamentary secretary for Social Welfare, Child & Women Development, Chotisüh Sazo moved a Resolution for Ratification of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 which was a follow up of the Indian Parliament Act that came into force on October 26, 2006. Adoption of the ratification will be taken up on September 11.
