NSCB Ltd sensitizes students

In an initiative to sensitize students on the value of banking, the Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Ltd on Thursday stretched out its services to the students of Baptist High, Kohima, and organized an awareness programme at Baptist High Auditorium.
Delivering his keynote address, Managing Director, NSCB Ltd B.K. Thadani encouraged the students to open their bank accounts and practice the art of saving money for their future. He asserted that the service of the NSCB Ltd was to cater to the needs of the rural masses, saying “the bank covers throughout the state giving services to the poorest of the poor.”
Thadani further stated that the NSCB Ltd had played a pivotal role for the socio-economic development of the people for poverty elevation in its 41 years of service to the state. Stating that only 21% of the total population has a bank account, Thadani noted that there was tremendous scope for financial coverage to improve the life standard of the deprived class.
He also affirmed that the bank was contemplating to deliver banking services at an affordable cost to vast sections of the low income group. Education loans or financial schemes to assist students would be introduced soon, he added.
Exhorting the students, Board of Director, NSCB, Phek, K. Lea, said that an essential element of becoming successful in life was to manage and save the available resources. He urged the students to know the value of banking from their student life.
Medophrenuo and Vilalie Zaputuoü, both students of Baptist High, presented songs during the programme. Invocation prayer was pronounced by vice principal, Baptist High, Isaac John, while vote of thanks was said by Branch manager, NSCB Ltd. Kohima Pankaj Bhattacharjee. The programme was chaired by Rajuselie Lhousa, Board of Director, NSCB Ltd.
