As a part of its all district tour, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) team led by its vice president, Nillo Rengma Saturday visited Dimapur District Congress Committee (DDCC) and conducted a meeting here at DCC office.
The meeting was attended by former chief minister and MLA, K.L Chishi, MLA S.I Jamir, frontal presidents, ACCC presidents, and host of party members.
Speaking at the conclave PCC vice, Nillo Rengma said the basis of tour was to look into how DCC, ACCC and units were functioning, to understand the reality at grass root level and if needed be, to reconstruct the party framework at the grass root level, in case of any dysfunction in the party system.
He said that later, after consulting with all the units, PCC would sit and deliberate on prospects of party functioning.
Rubbishing the allegation that PCC was split into fragments, visiting official articulated that everything was “doing fine” within the party. “There is no question of disunity among the MLAs”, Nillo affirmed.
PCC vice president while accusing NPF for spreading “false propaganda” called upon party constituents not to be deluded by such false propaganda.
Further, refuting to an allegation that AICC was being self-styled in decision making, Congress leader said “all the decisions are taken in consultation with the state leaders…” considering what was good for the party.
Nillo further urged party man and women not to get discouraged but to work under the ideology and principle of the party. He also appealed members to extend “full cooperation” to NPCC, CLP and MLAs in order to work for the betterment of the party.
PCC vice also congratulated DCC for doing well in the recent Lok Sabha election, and noted that NPCC would look into the problems of DCC.
Earlier, delivering short speech Nagaland Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (NPMCC) vice president, Amenla insisted assembly representatives to fight for the implementation of 33% reservation for women in municipal bodies.
MLA S.I Jamir speaking at the meet appealed visiting NPCC team to extend special preference to Dimapur DCC as the responsibility was much higher for the committee.
Others who spoke in the meeting included ACCC presidents, minority cell chairman, NPMCC secretary, visiting member, DMC member, and other party workers.
