NUNTSA concerned over NU impasse

Nagaland University Non-Teaching Staff Association (NUNTSA) has expressed serious concern over the prolonged impasse between the NUTA and the University authority which has resulted in academic standstill for almost a month now.
NUNTSA in a joint statement issued by its president, Medo Chirhah and general secretary, Lanuzulu said the uncompromising attitude maintained by the NUTA and University authority had taken its toll on the innocent students.
It reiterated that the suspension orders issued to eight teachers of the University be revoked unconditionally consequent upon which the NUTA should allow its members to resume normal duties. It called for efforts by all concerned to expedite the Fact Finding Committee Report and ensure it to be impartial.
Acknowledging the concerns shown by various individuals and organizations, which it said was a sign that the public has opened their eyes on the role and functioning of the University, the NUNTSA appealed all concerned to contribute their best in taking the University to its rightful place.
It also expressed solidarity with the NUTA and PGSU in their respective causes. It appealed to all parties to exercise utmost restraint and not to resort to violence and destruction of the temple of learning. NUNTSA while appealing for immediate settlement of the problem also expressed hoped for good sense to prevail.
