NPF flays atrocities

Terming the series of attacks on Christians and its institutions in different parts of the country as of “serious concern for the country”, the NPF central office has condemned the “systematic execution by fanatics and religious fundamentalists”.
NPF president, Dr. Shurhozelie through a press statement called for immediate stop to the violence and bringing the perpetrators before the law for stern punishment. Emphasizing on the constitution of India that guaranteed freedom of religion, Dr Shurhozelie said the incidents of violence against the minority Christians had seriously undermined the secular credentials of the country.
The NPF felt that the government of India and the respective state governments needed to immediately take all necessary steps for the protection of the Christians. It lamented the continued attacks on Christians despite assurances from the government agencies and chief ministers.
The NPF urged for ensuring life under normal circumstances to the minority Christians.
