Factions clash

Rival NSCN activists exchanged fire at 4th Mile near Diphupar ‘A’ gate, Wednesday around 4:20 p.m, police said. There was no casualty reported in the firing that lasted for about two minutes. Police quoting eyewitnesses said the exchange of fire took place from opposite sides of NH-39 with NSCN (I-M) activists firing from Diphupar gate side. Later, some four NSCN (I-M) activists reportedly drove off towards ceasefire monitoring cell in a Maruti Van. Police recovered six empty cases of AK-47 from Diphupar gate side and another three from the opposite site.
