One IRB jawan on patrolling duty was injured late Sunday night at around 11 pm when unidentified gunmen came in a Bolero and fired upon the patrolling party near the PHQ Police point, Kohima.
Police identified the victim as one Havilder, Zhapulie Koza, a patrol commander of the 10 IRB D Coy who sustained minor injury on his left knee joint. He was immediately admitted to Bethel Hospital and underwent minor surgery according to hospital sources. He is said to be out of danger.
According to Police, the gunmen first fired some shots in Forest colony area and then came to the PHQ police point where they fired again which compelled the IR jawans to retaliate.
