A book entitled – “Roots: A collection of Zeliang Folktales”, translated by Kangzangding Thou was released by State governor K. Sankaranarayanan on Friday at office chamber, Raj Bhavan, Kohima.
Governor was impressed with the quality of the book and remarked that he liked the stories because they carried moral lessons to instruct the society while servicing to entertain too.
The book contains message for Governor and the state Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, while the foreword is written by Easterine Iralu, a noted writer, who is known for her poems, novels and also her contribution on cultural studies of the Nagas.
Author, Kangzangding Thouson of Ibamleung Thou, who teaches English at Sazolie College, Jotsoma, also writes poems and songs. Two of his poems are included in poetry from Nagaland collections of poems by Nagaland University.
The book is available in Heritage Publishing House, Opposite IMC,Circular Road, Dimapur and it would be soon made available in all leading bookstores in Kohima and Dimapur.
