2 killed in vehicle mishaps

Two persons were killed in separate vehicle accidents in Dimapur and neighbouring Bokajan town, Assam, Saturday night, traffic police said.
An auto driver was killed and another seriously injured when the auto rickshaw they were traveling in collided head-on with a jeep near Dillai gate, Dimapur, around 7.30 p.m. The deceased was identified as one Tsukisua Ao of Merangkong village, a resident of Ao Kashiram.
The other occupant of the auto identified as Bendangba of Longmisa village was admitted to Metro Hospital.
Traffic police said the three occupants of the jeep escaped with minor injuries.
Meanwhile, in another accident, one motorcyclist was killed while his companion was injured when the bike they were riding collided with a truck near Bali Pathar, Bokajan, around 7.30 p.m.
Though the identity of the deceased and pillion rider could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report, traffic police said they resembled Nagas.
The TVS Max bike also bore Nagaland registration (NL-04- E6355). A case has been registered under Bokajan police station.
