An eleven-member team from University Grants Commission (UGC) is currently on a weeklong visit to Nagaland University (NU) in connection with the 11th Five-Year Plan for the university. The UGC team headed by former vice chancellor, NEHU, Prof. Mrinal Miri arrived in the state capital Sunday and is scheduled to visit all three NU campuses. Vice chancellor, NU, Prof. K Kannan said the team was here to study and determine the plan size and budgetary allocation for NU. Sources said two groups of the UGC team which has been divided into three groups, have already left for Lumami and Medzhiphema Monday afternoon, while the other team will visit Kohima campus Tuesday. The teams would have separate discussions with teaching faculty, NUTA, NUNSTA and PGSU, sources added.
