ENSF set for 3rd phase stir

Eastern Nagaland Student’s Federation (ENSF) has informed that it would resort to picketing all government offices within ENSF jurisdiction as part of the federation’s third phase agitation, starting October 28 onwards.
ENSF is demanding relaxation of ten years for teachers of the four districts of Mon, Tuensang, Longleng and Kiphire comprising of Konyak, Chang, Sangtam, Phom, Yimchunger and Khiamniungan tribes, from the purview of the new teachers’ recruitment policy, which made it mandatory that every graduate teacher should possess B.Ed degree.
Expressing resentment over the alleged indifference of the government to the demand of ENSF despite repeated representations and reminders, ENSF president YP Chillio and social & cultural secretary T Rongli Sangtam in a press release also cautioned the Education department that the federation would no longer tolerate “logic tactics” aimed at suppressing the future of youth of the four districts.
ENSF asked all its federating units to prepare for the phase agitation, which would include “violent means.”
The federation also cautioned that the Education department would be held sole responsible for any untoward incident arising during the agitation.
