Khulu lauds Mon administration for maintaining peace

Commissioner Nagaland, H.K. Khulu, IAS who paid an official visit to Mon lauded the administration, police, heads of offices, VG officers and NGOs of the district for their excellent coordination and keeping Mon district as one of the most peaceful district in the state.
Addressing the meeting with the administration, police, heads of offices, VG officers and NGOs on October 24 at D.C’s Conference hall, commissioner exhorted the administration to excel in other developments, specially the human development besides calling upon the officers to strictly implement various developmental schemes. He also appealed the administrators not to issue false certificate for visible development in the district.
Referring to extraction of coal and oil in Naginimora, Tiru and Tizit, he said 50,000 MT of coal have been extracted within two years from Tiru and six oil blocks have been identified in the state with Mon as one of the most potential distinct. He expressed hope that if it was utilized properly by adopting safety measures, the economy of Mon district would be improved and Tizit could become the industrial hub of Nagaland.
In his welcome address deputy commissioner, Mon, Dinesh Kumar, IAS gave a brief presentation of Mon district. He highlighted the various activities taken up by the district administration and other district level committees for peace and development of Mon district. SDO Civil, Mon Sadar, Hiazu Meru submitted memorandum to the Commissioner while President, Konyak Union, S.Khiowang Konyak also spoke at the meeting. The Commissioner also visited Nagimora, and Tiru Coal mining area. Orenpomo Kikon, ADC, Commissioner’s Office Kohima and Situo Sekhose, EAC, Commissioner’s Office, Kohima also accompanied the Commissioner.
