The manager of a popular restaurant located at NL Road, near Latika Hall, Dimapur, was reportedly abducted by two unidentified persons from the restaurant, Tuesday around 8 a.m, but later released an hour later, police sources said.
According to police, two unidentified persons came to the restaurant and had a private conversation with the manager, after which the manager was abducted and taken to an unknown destination.
On receiving information about the abduction, Police started raiding some suspected hideouts. However, the manager arrived safe and sound an hour later. Police suspect that a faction of the underground was involved in the abduction.
Sources said the manager was released as a result of fast action by police and administration and active intervention of NGOs.
The motive behind the abduction was “tax collection,” sources added.
