Thungbeni Jami and Jeffrey Mozhui were crowned Miss and Mr Tokhu 2008, Saturday evening, at an event organized as part of Tokhu Emong celebration by the Kyong Naga Cultural Society at State Academy Hall, Kohima.
Amongst the 19 young contestants in the Miss and Mr Tokhu contest, the winners Thungbeni Jami and Jeffrey walked away with a cash of Rs.10,000, a portrait from the People’s Tree, gift hampers from Avon and two months free computer course from NIIT. Besides the winners, Zuchobeni Odyuo and Chibenthung emerged as the 1st runners up and Nyanbeni Ngully and Renbemo as 2nd runners up. Winners of sub-titles include Stella Mozhui and M. Eyingo Patton as Miss and Mr Congeniality, Zuchobeni Odyuo and Chibenthung as winners for Best Costume; Nzanthung as Mr. Physic, and Zubeno Kithan as Miss Photogenic.
The panel of judges included Mhalo T.M. Lotha, Zubeni Ngully, Tech Kithan, Zuchamo Jami and Mhathung Kithan; while the choreographer for the show was Yanbeni N. Shitiri, 1st runners up, Miss Nagaland.
The function was graced by M. Yanthan, secretary to the Government of Nagaland as the guest of honour. Special features of the programme were musical items presented by E.M. Lotha, Gorila Squad, C.E.M. Kyong, Elemenz, Lumka and Oshom.
