Angels 2008, the 1st Model Hunt in the state organized by Get Gorgeous (GG) was truly an epic quest involving our very own maidens who had come from different cross-sections of the society, with different beliefs and attitudes and with the ultimate purpose to traverse the gateway to a magical world of high fashion.
The show which was held at DDSC stadium Dimapur, Saturday night, started off with much fan fare and triumph as fourteen “Gorgeous” maidens started to catwalk with full confidence and with a conviction to cling the title “Angel 2008”.
The night, though started behind schedule, seized the attention of the crowd as our own aspiring models started to invade the ramp.
The contest which had four rounds started first with the traditional wear, then two rounds of designer wear followed by evening gown round, during which the crowd were left with much speculation as to who could be the fortunate lady of the night from among the stunning fourteen.
The audiences, throughout the show, were left mesmerized by their elegant and magnificent display. However, as the moment of truth emerged Chonchibeni Kithan was eventually crowned the first ever coveted ‘Angels 2008’ title while Avikali Chishi bagged the first runner up title. Other subtitle winners included Angeline Swu who clinched the best Catwalk, Temjensangla Imsong as Most Glamorous and Moarenla Jamir as Perfect 10.
The model hunt was judged by supermodel Nicola Gomes and Rachel Varghese, the winner of Channel V Get Gorgeous Season 4 and Vikram Rai Medhi, NEIFT.
Dimapur ASP, V Z Angami graced the show as chief guest.
GG model hunt was a complete new experience for all the people who witnessed the one-of-its-kind model hunt ever to hit the state.
The show allegedly aiming to launch the next supermodel of the state was surely a show which could literally promote upcoming models to a higher ground.
