As Friday’s NSACS Naga Idol 3.08 roadshow in Wokha town cancelled due to tense situation following November 6 violence, Idol finalists were left ruing their missed chances of performing Friday night at a near-perfect stage set up for the first time in Wokha.
Martoshi, a member of the Extratainment Unlimited who has been traveling the long road with Idol finalists, was visibly disappointed with ‘no-show’ but he put up a brave front: “It happens”. While appreciative of the warm welcome extended by the Wokha district hosts of the show and people of Wokha he only had to say “sorry” to the music and Idol fans of Wokha. Idol finalists Sheneita, Mhathung, Laden, Naro, and Kenei were in Wokha while Idol finalist Inatoli and anchor Arenla Lemtur went back from halfway after organizers informed them of the current situation in town.
The Idol finalists had a consolation though as they attended the Tokhu Emong festival celebration at Wokha village (the celebration in town was also cancelled following the tense situation).
Tiyiro Cables, the Wokha district partner of NSCACS Naga Idol 3.08 were left ruing the unfortunate circumstances that led to the cancellation of the Roadshow which was supposed to be held on the night of the penultimate day of Tokhu Emong celebration The organizers had also elaborately planned special treats for the ticket buyers of Friday night. Tiyiro Cables’ proprietor Steve Odyuo thanked agriculture minister Dr. Chumben Murry for his financial and moral support, Martoshi Jamir, Idol finalists, Tsumang Youth Organization, Wokha Village Students’ Union and Youth Organization for their support. Tiyiro Cables also informed ticket buyers of Friday night show that tickets would be refunded from Sens’ Mixed Fillings before November 15.
