Training on breeding and culture of Magur

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) – ICAR research complex for NEH region – Wokha conducted a three-day training programme on “Breeding and Culture of Magur” from November 5 to 7 at fish farmers training centre, fisheries department, Wokha sponsored by National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Hyderabad.
A release issued by the course coordinator of the training programme, Dr. H. Moaakum, Subject Matter Specialist, KVK, Wokha, said the training was first of its kind to be held in Wokha district to encourage the fish farmers to undertake Magur farming seeing the potentiality in the area.
District fisheries officer, Wokha, Ketusielie Angami who was the resource person spoke on various topics related to Magur farming to the trainees through lectures, practical demonstration and film show on breeding and culture techniques.
Altogether 26 fish farmers from ten villages of Wokha district attended the training programme. The training was concluded by awarding certificates to the trainees.
