Miss Toshinaro (Naro), a first semester MA student of English department, Nagaland University, bagged the coveted NSACS Naga Idol 3.08 title at the grand finale held here Saturday night. The glittering ceremony was graced by minister for Agriculture Dr. Chumben Murry as chief guest.
Daughter of T. Imnuk Imchen and Y. Temsuinla Longchar, Naro garnered 1, 66,249 votes to emerge as the ambassador of NSACS campaign against HIV/AIDS for 2008-09.
The Idol walked away with a brand new Maruti Alto along with cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh. Inatoli with 1, 41,017 votes was declared runners-up and received Rs. 1 lakh cash. The other four finalists Kenei (1, 31,470 votes), Shenieta (1, 31,470 votes), Mhathung (84,880 votes) and Leden (43, 767 votes) also received Rs. 25,000 each besides certificates.
