Yingla Welfare Society, Longleng on November 14 organized Miss Longleng beauty pageant 2008 under the theme “Essence of Beauty” at GHS auditorium with Nyathei Phom, wife of parliamentary secretary for RD and REPA, Pangyu Phom as chief guest.
Altogether 8 contestants participated in the event. Nyei-e leinak was crowned Miss Longleng 2008; Shongna. K. and Chingshom bagged the 1st and 2nd runners-up title respectively.
Meanwhile, winners of the sub-titles included Nyei-e Leinak as best costume and Miss Perfect 10; Chingshom as Miss Personality; Manlen as Miss Photogenic and Lijang as Miss Beautiful Hair.
The judges for the event included lecturer, Yingli college Longleng, Lanu; headmaster, Phom Lempong School, Tialemba; Dr. Waulong, Vanben, TOT EBRc and ENWO cultural secretary, Taumei. The chief guest also donated Rs.50, 000 towards the society and gift hampers for Miss Longleng 2008 and Rs.3000 for Miss Personality.
