CIHSR first anniversary

Commemorating the first anniversary of health care services, a thanksgiving service of Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) society was held Thursday at its premises.
A small yet significant function held at lobby of the OPD, was attended by CIHSR medical superintendent Dr. Sedevi Angami, medical fraternity, management staff and well wishers. CIHSR director P.K John expressing his “thrilled at heart” moment said CIHSR society through its journey by faith had come a long way despite unpleasant situations it faced. He expressed hope that by care the society would proceed towards excellence even with limited resources.
Calling upon medical fraternity the director said “I hope we listen not by ears but by heart and to perceive what patients cannot express by words”
Dr. Kumuni who also spoke at the service lauded the many influential people behind the establishment of CIHSR including those who still strived for the betterment of the society.
Earlier, Rev. Dozo invoked God’s blessing followed by scripture reading by Ngamphy, special number by CIHSR Choir, vote of thanks was proposed by Varadharajan and benediction pronounced by Rev. Bizo. It is pertinent to mention that CIHSR which was inaugurated by governor K Sankaranarayan on October 29, 2007 under government of Nagaland signed a partnership with Emmanuel Hospital Association (EHA) Delhi in January 2005 and later entered into another MoU with Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore in May 2005. State chief minister Neiphiu Rio handed over the erstwhile Referral hospital at Dimapur to what is known today as Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) on March1 to revitalize and run it for the next 30 years. CIHSR society which actually is the owner comprised of state government officials, Emmanuel Hospital Association (EHA) and Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore representatives, Presbyterian Church hospitals of Mizoram and Meghalaya, CMC Ludhiana and other co-opted members.
