An all-party meeting convened by Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Kiyaneilie Peseyie to discuss the 108 (Amendment) Act, 2008 (Women Reservation Bill) relating to 33 % women reservation in the parliament and state assemblies on Tuesday, again remained “inclusive”.
It may be mentioned a similar meeting held on October 3 last to discuss the reservation issue, could not come out with any decision. Some of the members who attended the meeting disclosed that the House after thorough deliberation on the issue, decided to request the Speaker to further extend the time.
Meanwhile, sources said a select committee will be constituted soon under the convenership NLA deputy speaker Ralangthung Yanthan to look into the issue.
