Health camp held at Lungwa village

NAIP-SASRD, Nagaland University successfully conducted a health camp at Lungwa Village under Mon district on November 21 with the help of C.M.O. Office, Mon under the theme National Agricultural Innovation Project (NAIP) on ‘Livelihood improvement and Empowerment of Rural Poor through Sustainable Farming System in Mon, Nagaland’ and to fulfill one of its objectives of creating awareness on various social issues such as sanitation, health and hygiene care.
The medical camp began with a short speech on health awareness and personal hygiene by Dr. T. Kikon, C.M.O. Mon. Over 500 patients were examined and treated for various illnesses by a medical team led by Dr. Molusen, M.O., SASRD, N.U. He was ably assisted by Dr. A. P. Sinha and Dr. Yingnei Kongyak, Civil Hospital, Mon.
The medical team was supported by personnel from Health Centre, SASRD and Civil Hospital, Mon, and medicines donated by various organizations and well wishers, distributed free of cost to the patients.
The organizers of the camp, meanwhile, expressed gratitude to all the medical team, Dean, SASRD, NU, C.M.O. Mon, Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association, Dimapur, Dr. Akali Sema, Director, CIH, Tongpang Longkumer, Pangjung Jamir, L.M. Merry, Dr. Alex Kithan, Dr. Atsungba, Philip and Universal Computer for providing all help and medicines for the poor and needy.
