Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) Friday awarded the colony award for best Christmas decoration 2008, to Kezieke Colony, Kohima.
The award carries cash price of Rs. 5000 and a citation received by the Kezieke Welfare Board (KWB) and Kezieke Youth Organization (KYO) on behalf of the colony.
The competition and the award was organized and sponsored by the KCCI.
Kezieke Youth Organization vice president, Tiesongulie Dz?vichu and secretary, Kezieke Welfare Board, Mezhulhouvilie, in a press statement that by taking the initiative in organizing the competition, the KCCI helped in beautifying all the colonies in the capital during Christmas and Hornbill Festival, adding, during that time of the year tourists visit Nagaland and the competition organized by the KCCI was an innovative move to project Kohima as a beautiful capital of colours and festivities, apart from depicting our faith in the birth of Jesus Christ. Meanwhile, the KWB and the KYO expressed gratitude to KCCI for organizing the competition.
