GPRN/NSCN Naga Army Terminates 2
DIMAPUR: Captain Khenito, son of Yethahe of Roni Old Village, Sumi Region, bearing Naga Army no. KL-20177 and 2nd Lt. Avito, son of Homithi of Nihoto Village bearing Naga Army no. KL -20390 of UT I have been effectively terminated from the Nation Service on grounds of ‘gross indiscipline’. A press release issued by Khehoi brigadier Samson, Designated Camp, Naga Army, despite several warnings, the two have repeatedly breached the National Azha a number of times and hence their termination had been ordered in the interest of the Naga Nation. The release further said henceforth any individual (s) collaborating with them on any matter would be doing so at their own risk.
G. Kaito graces SHN session
DIMAPUR: Acknowledging the Sumi Hoho’s initiatives for the socio-economic development of the Sumis and its role on reconciliation, peace and unity of all Nagas, minister for roads and bridges, G. Kaito Aye, urged upon all Sumis to steadfastly pursue to achieve its goal. Speaking at the annual session of the Sumi Hoho Nagaland (SHN) as chief guest, Aye also emphasized on unity amongst the Sumi people which would ultimately be the strength at the same time called the GBs to renew their leadership for all round development. Red blankets were also distributed to more 800 GBs, which was contributed by the minister. The morning session was also followed by inauguration of office building of Sumi Hoho’s building, purchased through contributions of Sumi legislators. Speakers at the session includes parliamentary secretary for Industries and Commerce, Dr. K.C Nihoshe Yepthomi, MLA Shetoyi Yepthomi, chairman, NIDC.
Training for presiding officers
DIMAPUR: Second phase training for presiding officers in respect of Tuensang district has been scheduled on March 6 at conference hall of Tuensang deputy commissioner office. According to an official bulletin all DPDB members have been directed to attend both the meeting and training session. It further directed that no head of office would depute other officer or staff on his/her behalf.
NPF Mon division
DIMAPUR: Supporters of T. Aloh Wangham, former MLA who merged to NPF had declared to work in unity under the leadership of NPF President Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu and state chief minister Neiphiu Rio. The office bearers of 41, Tizit A/C Mon division decided to support the former MLA at the joint meeting held on February 27 at its office. A press release issued by NPF Mon division secretary Nchumo Kikon, vice presidents Thongwang Konyak and Atovi Sumi stated that the meeting unanimously resolved to support former MLA for the ensuing 41 Tizit A/C by- election.
Contraband seized
DIMAPUR: Acting on a tip off, the excise Narcotic cell manning Chumukedima excise check gate seized 35 kgs of contraband ganja. The excise personnel arrested one S. Loli son of Sailo, a resident of Shojuba under Senapati district Manipur was arrested for illegal possession and trafficking of contraband ganja. According to deputy commissioner of excise (NC) Alem Ao, the arrested has been remanded to judicial custody booked under the relevant section of NDPS Act 85.
K V Pusa clarifies
DIMAPUR: President, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee and MLA K V Pusa, has clarified that the name of MLA Sentichuba, member of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee, Election Committee was missed out in the list due to typing error. “MLA Sentichuba is also one of the members of the congress election committee which was constituted recently and approved by the AICC” stated the release.
NPF working committee meet
DIMAPUR: Nagaland People’s Front (NPF) central office has convened working committee meeting March 9, 11 a.m. at central office, Kohima. All working committee members have been requested to attend the meeting.
WEC informs
DIMAPUR: Ward Education Committee (WEC) Kohima has informed that in lieu of the announcement of Lok Sabha elections and four constituencies of the state assembly by-election, the programme for inauguration of the newly constructed building of government primary and middle school PWD colony has been postponed to April 23. All WEC members, PWD panchayat members and teachers have been requested to note the postponement of the programme.
DNSU assembly
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has convened its 7th union assembly for the tenure 2007-2009 March 6, 1 p.m. at science center, auditorium hall behind super market. All constituent unit president, general secretary, tribunals and senior leaders have been requested to attend the assembly.
UBC DHEP Doyang man’s camp
DIMAPUR: United Baptist Church (UBC) DHEP Doyang would organize a three-day man’s camp at tourist spot Chupi river Doyang on the theme, ‘Purposeful Life’ from March 9 to 11.
DIC Wokha invites
DIMAPUR: District Industries Centre (DIC) Wokha has invited application for wielding training under RAP for the current year 2009-10 from the legitimate citizens and interested candidates. DIC general manager, Yanponthung Lotha in a release stated that interested aspirant could apply in plain paper along with bio data. The last date of submission would be March 20 while interview would be held March 25, 10 a.m. at DIC Wokha, the release stated. Further, it stated that no separate calling letter would be issued.
YMS 7th foundation day
DIMAPUR: Yangli Mission Society (YMS) would celebrate its 7th foundation day March 8, 2 p.m. at its office premises, Longleng, with Longleng DC, C.K Nihekhu Sema as chief guest.
NU BBA, BCA exams from April 21
DIMAPUR: The three years integrated degree courses of B.B.A/B.C.A. examination of 2009 would commence from April 21. All responsible have been requested to complete the process of submission of examination related forms latest by April 4 (without late fine) and April 13 (with late fine).
Blood donation rally
Dimapur: A silent rally to create awareness on blood donation will be organized by CRU, Dimapur unit from 11 am tomorrow (Thursday). The rally will begin at CRU office, West Yard Colony and culminate at Dimapur civil hospital. However, donation/collection of blood during the rally will not be allowed, DC Dimapur Maongwati Aier said in a notification.
NPF DMU II A/C Meet
Dimapur: Nagaland People’s People (NPF) ward/unit president under 2 Dimapur II A/C has convened a meeting on March 7 at 10 am at A/C office half Nagarjan. The meeting will discuss the collection of the latest electoral roll for ensuring Parliamentary election to be held on April 7.
