State Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has welcomed former speaker NLA and ex-minister, Neiba Ndang and Miathou Krose former INC candidate from 5-Ghaspani-I A/C and their supporters into its party fold. State NPC in a press note issued by its president, Povotso Lohe has expressed confidence that their joining would strengthen the party at all levels particularly in Peren and Dimapur.
State NCP has also condemned the imposition of president’s rule in Meghalaya, alleging the imposition as “undemocratic and uncalled for” as the NCP led coalition government, Meghalaya Progressive Alliance (MPA) had won the confidence vote on the floor of the house.
A release expressed dissatisfaction over the act of union cabinet of Congress led coalition government at the centre for the high-handedness shown and in violating the provisions of anti-defection law Further, it also flayed the manner of Meghalaya Governor for having “misused his office and acted fully as an agent of the Congress party”.
