Congress candidate for Nagaland Lok Sabha seat, K. Asungba Sangtam filed his nomination paper before the Returning Officer for Nagaland parliamentary seat, H. Khullu on Friday. The Congress also fielded Zachilhu as a stand-by candidate.
Sangtam (62) is also a two time LS MP (1998-1999 and 1999-2004) from the state. He lost in 2004 Lok Sabha seat. He contested on Congress party ticket on all three occasions. Congress sources said Vitsorel Lcho has been appointed as the chief agent of K. Asungba Sangtam.
Meanwhile, candidates from other political parties and Independents were also expected to file their papers soon. The filling of nomination papers will close on March 30.
