Deputy Commissioner & Assistant Returning Officer, Kohima, Sachopra Vero has notified that rates of hire charges of private vehicles applied during the last Assembly Election in March 2008 would be adopted for conducting the ensuing Parliamentary election 2009. The details are as follows:

The hire charges in respect of requisitioned NST buses with POL provided by Election Department shall be in accordance with their departmental rates which have no separate rates for retention:
1. Super Deluxe and Mini Bus Rs. 1878/- per day
2. Semi Deluxe Bus Rs. 1558/- per day
Above rates shall be applicable if deployment is within Kohima district. If they are deployed outside, the charges shall be realized as per sitting capacity of the bus. All representatives of vehicle unions/owners have been informed to keep their vehicles in good running condition for smooth requisition during election duty.
