NU organizes trg on ‘computer literacy for underprivileged girls’

For the first time in Nagaland, the Women’s Studies Centre, Nagaland University conducted free computer training exclusively for underprivileged girls.
Thirty girls from socially and economically deprived background were selected and have benefited from the program, conducted under the initiative and guidance of vice-chancellor, Nagaland University, Prof. K. Kannan.
The training was conducted from March 18 to 31 at school of engineering and technology and school of management studies, NU, Dimapur.
In continuance with the various capacity building activities und-ertaken by the centre and in an effort to give an opportunity for girls in lower income group of the society to access computer education, the training program was conducted with the objective to capacitate the trainees with basic computer skills so as to enable them to be more employable.
The training concluded with a certification program where the vice- chancellor NU, gave away certificates to the trainees.
