Saggy pants, low ok but not very low

The fashion style statement for the youth has come under the scanner thanks to a teenager in Florida who pleaded not guilty after getting arrested for exposing his boxer shorts through his saggy pants.
Popular among Gen-X in India too, saggy trousers, however, have not slid low enough to invite legal action. These are not low slung or low rise but regular fitting pants that are wore low intentionally to expose the innerwear.
The Hip-Hop wave in the 90’s first saw the birth of saggy pants and in recent times celebrities such as David Beckham have been spotted wearing these pants that seems to have been designed to show off their underwear. “I got inspired from music artists like Papa Roach to wear them. Saggy pants are stylish and express individual aspiration, it does not matter to me what others feel about it,” says Rahul Lal, 2nd year Sociology student at Hindu College.
Several states in the US are busy drafting “anti-saggy” bills making it illegal to wear pants too low. However, Indian youth are still dismal about wearing saggy pants on all occasions and would not intend to be troublemakers for the law.
