Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) has informed all non-Nagas to register their names and families and obtain the tenancy card from its office
According to a press release issued by CTC chairperson, Neichu-u Kuotsu, the tenancy card is mandatory for all non- Nagas permanently or temporarily residing at Chumukedima town jurisdiction and is compulsory for any recommendation or document without which the council would not entertain under any circumstances.
The release also said the tenancy card drive would resume from June 29 at CTC office and after completion of the same, surprise check would be conducted and defaulters would be penalized. They are also to report to the council office with two passport size photos along with a well known person for identification of antecedent. Meanwhile, after coming to know that many illegal activities were taking place in some business establishments, the CTC warned all concerned persons that if apprehended, they would be prosecuted leading to cancellation of trade license and confiscation of the establishment’s goods.
