Army donates basketball court

The basketball court of High Mountain School constructed and donated by Lt. Gen. R. K. Loomba, AVSM, G.O.C 3corps Rangapahar was inaugurated on August 10 with Col A. K Gupta, commanding officer 69 Engineer Regiment as the chief guest accompanied by Maj Alok Dua and also some of his officials.
Kedivito Savi, principal of the school in his speech thanked the Army for the beautiful gift to the school and also extended special thanks to Brig H S Dhanny, chief Engineer 3 corps, who conceptualized and designed the project for the welfare of the students.
Col. A.K Gupta, in his inaugural speech said that construction was a part of the Army’s social welfare project under where they also emphasized on women empowerment and imparting skillful education among youth.
He said that the school and 69 Engineer Regiment were neighbors and an effort would always be on to spread peace and harmony in society. Chairman, G.B’S and village elders of Signal Angami and Phevima village were also present on the occasion.
