Peren VDBs exhibit agricultural products

On the occasion Independence day, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Peren took up the task of arranging the VDB exhibition -cum -sale – organised by DRDA Peren and RD Blocks.
The VDB exhibition cum sale held at Peren town hall was inaugurated by Parliamentary secretary, Rural Development and REPA Pangyu Phom.
Various VDBs, numerous SHGs and individual beneficiaries under Peren district exhibited and sold their handloom, handicrafts and agricultural products with assistance received from RD Department under its various schemes such as SGSY, Grand-in-Aid etc.
The atmosphere in the hall was like that of a regular hustle and bustle of a market place where brisk business was in progress, much to the appreciation of the public and VDBs of the area.
Local organic spices and vegetables including the famous “Raja Mircha” were also put for sale. Mention may also be made of the family welfare of 9th IRB posted at Saijang, also set up a stall to sell “Naga Mura” made by the personnel. All the items were in high demand as most were booked in advance and all items were sold out by the end of the day.
The exhibition was initiated under Kelei Zeliang, Project Director, DRDA Peren with participation from Block Development officers of three RD Blocks, Peren, Tening and Jalukie.
