Responding to several remarks on deferment of election to urban local bodies in Nagaland, the state minister for urban development Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu today clarified that forum of municipal and town councils had requested the state government to extend their term by “some more time.” Clarifying this in a press statement, Dr. Shürhozelie said: “…though the government could not do anything to consider this request yet the members have understood the point.” Also, explaining on 33% reservation of seats for women, the minister, said the Act as amended was valid law unless the same amendment was changed again by NLA.
