Free health camp held at Peren
DIMAPUR: The District Industries Centre (DIC) in collaboration with ICICI Lombard conducted free health camp at Peren district on February 2 at DIC office where free medical check up and medicines were provided to 163 patients. In a press note issued by P. Tokugha Achumi, functional manager DIC has stated that ICICI officials led by Sandep Bhadury along with four doctors and chemists provided free consultation and medicines in the day long programme. Further, decided that such free health camps would be conducted in the district in the near future for all the card holders and also expressed gratitude to the doctors and the officials for their service.
ARSU holds 22nd general conference
DIMAPUR: The 22nd general conference of Akuluto Range Students’ Union (ARSU) was held from January 14 to 17 at Lotisa (old) on the theme, ‘Vying for the Excelsis’. Informing this in a press note Gideon Chishi, president ARSU expressed gratitude to the chief guest, invitees, speakers, participants, officers and well wishers for their financial and prayer support towards the conference and appealed them to keep their cooperation in future.
Reshuffle of NPF Lopfukhong unit
DIMAPUR: Nagaland People’s Front (NPF) Lopfukhong village unit has reshuffled the office bearers’ position for the re-strengthening of the unit which was held on January 10 at village unit treasurer. According to a press note issued by NPF Lopfukhong unit the reshuffled office bearers position includes in parent body M. Holong as president, T, Numuso and Juvseleng as vice presidents, Khesutsu as general secretary, H. Limkho as joint secretary and Pentse as treasurer. Further youth wing includes, Z. Anukhum as president, Khokho and Saditsu as vice presidents, T. Athong as general secretary and P. Shishiong as joint secretary. Meanwhile, Mahila women wing included Vongtsula as president, Nuho and Akiula as vice presidents, Apila as general secretary and Thsekamcha as joint secretary and also the advisors include R. Soso Yim and L. Shishile Yim.
NVC on contractor’s incomplete works
DIMAPUR: Village council Ngetchongching, Longleng while thanking ex-parliamentary secretary geology and mining H Nyemli for metaling and black topping the road for Rs 13,80 crore under PMGSY scheme during 2006-07 questioned on the culvert over the small stream was still lying as it was. A joint issued by VC chairman W Onen Phom and VDB Secretary Shangnyu Phom stated that VDB fund had to be utilized in clearing the road as it was damaged at several places including the culverts.The note inquired as to how the contractor could have left the job unfinished as the tender and fund allotment with the time limit of 5 years was about end. It further requested the ex-parliamentary secretary to direct the contractor to finish the job or the village public would have to approach the authorities to ensure that the work was done. Further, NVC added that even the road in Yongyah was left half constructed.
SVSU session for better community
DIMAPUR: The 4th session of Shaki Village Students’ Union (SVSU) was held on December 29 at village hall on the theme, “Role of the students for a better community” and graced by C. Jomithung Khvung, SDO PWD (Housing), Wokha as chief guest. The union through a press note expressed gratitude to chief guest and all well wishers who had contributed in cash and kind towards the annual session.
ANCSU elects new president
DIMAPUR: All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has informed that Vikashe Zhimomi has been elected as president from the Government Polytechnic Kohima which was the final result from Election Commission as per the by-election code of conduct based on the constitution. In a press note jointly issued by Imchatoba Imchen, commissioner; Chichamo Kikon, member and Keneingulie Sopfunuo, member secretary Election Commission has stated that the Election Commission has re-affirmed its stand that if any discrepancies arise from the outcome of the election result, the Election Commission would be availed for any further clarification on the stance.
CHSS seminar for teachers
DIMAPUR: A one day teachers seminar was conducted at Cornerstone Higher Secondary School (CHSS) on February 6 with a view to enhance better teaching and learning. According to a press note issued by Principal CHSS, all the teachers took active participation in the seminar and also stated that “the school is all set to walk into a new era where learning is not a task but a joyful experience”.
TKKDD formed
DIMAPUR: Tukunasami in a meeting held on February 6 has decided to form a union under the name Tukunasami Kughoko Kukhakalu Dimapur District (TKKDD) for better cooperation, understanding, help, development and also to maintain a close relationship among the members and also decided to collect rupees five hundred per household as subscription fee. Further, TKKDD has elected the office bearers of TKKDD for tenure of two years with Hoshito Kibami as president, Shiheto Achumi as vice president, Kakheto V. Jimo as secretary, Ghotoi K Jimo as finance secretary, Obed Kapo as treasurer and Kakuto Swu as banker. This has been informed in a press note issued by Kakheto V Jimo, secretary TKKDD.
