Dmu-Zubza railway line

The proposed re-alignment of Dimapur-Zubza railway line from Dhansiripar via Shoxuvi has been approved by the state cabinet. But the old line starting from Thahekhu has also not been cancelled. NFR Affected Landowners Committee, Dimapur-Zubza, Convenor, T. Shuya said this was disclosed by state chief minister, Neiphiu Rio. A final decision on which route would be chosen for the railway line would depend on the decision of the union ministry of environment as the railway line would touch Rangapahar Zoological Park for nearly 1.07 km. Shuya said this has become the “biggest obstacle” in laying the railway line starting from Thahekhu. He said environmentalists were opposing railway line to pass through the Park. According to Shuya, the chief minister has said that the public and NGOs must pressurize the union ministry of environment to allow the railway line to cut through the Park.
