Doshehe on power supply
DIMAPUR: Minister for Power, Doshehe Y. Sema said an average power during monsoon was 16 MW and during lean season 8 MW.
Stating this while replying to a starred question on Friday, the Minister said the project was grid connected; hence power from the project was supplied to the state as a whole.
The minister also informed that maximum expected power during monsoon was 24 MW and lean season 8 MW.
Admission to B.Sc (Agri)
DIMAPUR: Admission to B.Sc (Agri) for the session 2010-11 is to begin w.e.f. July 16 and last date of admission is July 31. Candidates have been informed to report to Dean, NU: SASRD, Medziphema campus along with original documents for admission on or before July 31. Director of agriculture informed that no further extension will be given to the candidates beyond the last date mentioned. Regular classes will start from August 1.
125th year of INC
DIMAPUR: A meeting of coordination committee for 125th year celebration of Indian National Congress will be held on July 28, 3 p.m. at the private residence of I. Imkong, President, NPCC at Dimapur. All Members have been requested to attend the meeting.
B. Tech results declared
DIMAPUR: The provisional result of bachelor of technology (B. Tech.) II, IV and VI semester examinations of School of Engineering &Technology and School of Management Studies Nagaland University held in 2009 has been declared.
KSU freshers’ day
DIMAPUR: The 23rd freshers’ day meet of Kyong Students’ Union, (KSU) St. Joseph’s College Jakhama will be held on July 31 at Heritage Complex Kisama on the theme ‘Go with vision and perseverance’ Dr. Emmanual Yanthan medical officer department of health and family welfare and Hachio Patton personal secretary to parliamentary secretary for geology and mining will be the chief guest and theme speaker.
Zunheboto DPDB meeting
DIMAPUR: The monthly district planning development board (DPDB) Zunheboto district has been convened on August 6. Proposal of LADP schemes for 2010-2011 would be finalized in the meeting, for which all members have been requested to submit schemes under LADP before August 3.
Science College freshers’ social
KOHIMA: The 49th freshers day of Kohima Science College Jotsoma will be held on July 30 at 10 am at the college auditorium with chief secretary, Lalthara as the chief guest and Mutsikhoyo, president of NSF as the guest of honour.
YGOA to attend road show
DIMAPUR: Yimchunger Gazzetted Officers’ Association (YGOA ) has informed all its members to attend the upcoming Road Show from August 6-8 at Pungro which also coincides with the ENGOA session on the account of Metumneo. The association general secretary Y Shahoto Yim also further informed that absentees may be liable to be imposed with fine as per the resolution.
BYFD combine service
DIMAPUR: Baptist youth fellowship Dimapur (BYFD) would have monthly service on July 25, 4 pm at Ao Baptist church Dimapur (DABA). All the youths have been requested to attend the service.

DIMAPUR: An urgent meeting of Eastern Naga Students Union Kohima (ENSUK) has been convened on July 25 from 9.30 am at DUDA guest house. All presidents and general secretaries of sub-ordinates and federating units has been informed to attend the meeting.

KNCS general meeting
DIMPAUR: General meeting of Kyong Naga Cultural Society (KNCS) has been convened on July 24 at 11 am at Red Cross Building, Kripa Foundation Hall, Kohima. All members, representatives, executive members and advisors have been informed to attend the meeting to deliberate on society’s extension at Wokha town and the forthcoming Mr. & Miss Tokhu Kohima 2010.
State monitoring team visits Peren
DIMAPUR: Team members including Joint Director NRHM Dr. Vizolie and Deputy Director NRHM Dr. Kika visited Peren and held a meeting with VHC Peren and village health workers Peren. The main purpose of the visit was to monitor and evaluate health services and facilities in the village under Peren. Other highlights included registration of members and interaction.
Sanctioned amount for storm drainage system at Dimapur
DIMAPUR: To a starred question posed by MLA, Y. Hewoto Awomi, Minister for Urban Development, Shurhozelie Liezietsu informed the House that total amount sanctioned for Storm Drainage System at Dimapur was directly engaged by NBCC (a central government undertaking) as the implementing agency by sanctioning an amount of Rs. 2094.25 lakhs. He said the fund was directly given to NBCC from ministry and that utilization certificate, progress reports etc., were directly sent to ministry by NBCC.
ENSF lauds govt
DIMAPUR: Eastern Nagaland Students Federation (ENSF) lauded the efforts of the government under the leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio for facilitating in signing MoU with Medicines sans Frontiers/Doctors without borders. Federation also expressed gratitude to both parties for selecting Mon for their pilot project and expressed hope that it would go a long way in addressing the health care of the people. Federation also urged both the parties to further explore more areas of the state.
ENSF also thanked state medical minister, principal director (H &FW) and mission director of NRHM for providing an ambulance and establishing new CHCs and PHCs in eastern region.
Domestic violence Act 2005 ratified
DIMAPUR: On adoption of protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 by the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on September 11, 2008 the government had ratified the protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 as promulgated by Government of India w.e.f. the date it was adopted by state assembly i.e September 11, 2008.
This was stated in a notification issued by Secretary to the Government of Nagaland N. Hushili, NCS.
Regional director RBI to address
DIMAPUR: With a view to creat public awareness about the recent scam of fraudulent activity on the fictitious prize money offer from aboard which is relatively high incident in Nagaland among North-Eastern States, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Guwahati Surekha Marandi will be briefing media persons at Hotel Japfu, Kohima on July 28, 3 p.m.
Power restored in Tobu village
DIMAPUR: Tobu village students’ union (TVSU) has expressed gratitude to the minister, power, Doshehe Sema, Chief Engineer Power, Dimapur, SDO (power) Mon, Jugali tobu and village council Tobu village for their sincere co- operation in pressing public demand by restoring electricity in the village. According to the union, Tobu village faced total lack of electricity since 2007 when its transformer developed a technical snag, and added the said transformer was repaired at Dimapur and electricity finally restored in July 2010, due to positive intervention of all concerned by replacing adequate provision of wire for re – connectivity, restoration of electricity.
Directorate of technical education informs
DIMAPUR: Additional director and HoD, directorate of technical education, A. Kathipri has informed candidates interested for undergoing 3 (three) years diploma course in fashion design and apparel production, modern office practice at government polytechnic Kohima for the session 201 0-11 that the last date for submission of application to office of additional director and HoD, directorate of technical education is August 2. Test, interview would be conducted on August 4 and that no separate call letter would be issued. Those who have passed HSLC or 10 plus from government recognized board/university with a minimum of 40% in total aggregate are eligible.
