RD programs for village functionaries in Mkg

Department of rural development Mokokchung on Friday organized training cum workshop on RD programs for village functionaries in Mokokchung at Town Hall.
In the inaugural session, deputy commissioner Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi who graced the training program as chief guest said VDBs were agents of development in villages as well as representatives of development in the villages.
Stressing on the vital role of VDBs in development process of their respective villages, DC encouraged participation of more women VDB members for wholesome development and appealed for equal opportunity to women according to the guidelines.
DC also said VDB institutions receive wide praise admiration all over the world and that many states in India have starting adopting the VDB system.
DC Mokokchung urged the participants to be sincere, honest and utilize funds judiciously reiterating that VDB funds were meant for all round development of the village and that it should be utilized to the maximum for the development of the village.
Meanwhile, S K. Imotemjen, project director DRDA Mokokchung while delivering the keynote address said through such programs, the functionaries were made well equipped with various developmental programs for their villages.
He also said such programs, clarifications, suggestions, problems and other related issues would be cleared as the program not only dealt with training but includes workshop as well.
The inaugural session was followed by discussions on various programs including grant-in-aid, SGSY, IAY, FD/MCG/micro finance/welfare fund and MGNREGA.
