Advent Christmas-cum-sports week was held from December 3 to 5 at sub-jail Wokha on the theme ‘Walk work and worship together’.
Ex-officio superintendent sub-jail Wokha Anthony Ngullie, and SDO civil Wokha Ngangnen, pastor Ao Baptist Church Wokha graced the occasion as speakers.
While speaking on the occasion, Anthony Ngullie stressed that being confined in prison was not a punitive measure exacted by law but rather an opportunity proposed by society towards realization, reformation, and re-establishment of oneself as a responsible citizen. Pastor, in his message, encouraged the inmates to let Christ come into their lives this Christmas and begin a new life.
The sports event were participated by inmates, department of the prison, and 2nd NAP guards (E) coy where prison inmates’ team emerged as the over-all champions. Meanwhile, officers, staff, and inmates of sub-jail Wokha have extended gratitude to all citizens for their active participation, support, and contributions during the event.
