GPRN/NSCN has clarified that there was no “NSCN (U)” as used by MLA Kheto which appeared on February 16 in the local dailies. “Whether it (nomenclature usage) was deliberate or otherwise, GPRN/NSCN clarified that there is no NSCN (U), the concerned MLA may kindly take note for any future references,” GPRN/NSCN MIP said in a statement. It said that the NSCN headed by chairman S.S. Khaplang and general secretary N. Kitovi Zhimomi endorsed the nomenclature GPRN/NSCN to distinguish Naga national workers from other factions. It also urged the media which continue to use NSCN (K) to be corrected stating that the nomenclature GPRN/NSCN was most appropriate. “At this juncture there are elements who continue to use NSCN (U), (K), Unification Group etc whether through ignorance or to create further division, this is to clarify that there is no other nomenclature except GPRN/NSCN,” it added.
