IRCS: A movement for the people

A two- day seminar on Red Cross movement and basic first aid was conducted at Tethuyo village on Saturday.
NSS members Zisaji Presidency College, village elders, LIFE members, managing committee members and well-wishers with deputy commissioner and chairman IRCS Kiphire C. M Tsanglao attended the inaugural programme. Speaking at the occasion as the special guest deputy commissioner said, IRCS was a mission of the whole world and that its mission was to help people and organizations.
While elucidating that the entire world was one family, he urged the gathering not to shy away from helping others in times of need. He called upon students and participants to be actively involved in social service, terming it as the only chance where they could render voluntary service to the community.
Honorary secretary IRCS while delivering the keynote address touched upon the history of Red Cross movement and its fundamental principles.
He also highlighted activities of the district branch and its involvement.
The program was chaired by Levi M.C member IRCS, while Chumdiba, life member, proposed vote of thanks IRCS and the NSS volunteers presented a special song.
