Super-slim Kate ‘to have her engagement ring made smaller to fit her finger better’

Kate Middleton is having her engagement ring made smaller to fit her finger better, it was claimed today.
The royal bride-to-be has asked jewellers to alter the ring as she prepares to marry Prince William on April 29.
The sapphire and diamond band was famously worn by Diana, Princess of Wales.
Miss Middleton has asked Crown jewellers G Collins and Sons to attach small platinum beads inside the bottom of the ring to make it a size I, which is said to be one notch up from her own finger width.
Kate has reluctantly had ‘speed bumps’ attached to the bottom of the ring to make the band more of a snug fit on her size H finger, according to the Sun.
Miss Middleton appears to have slimmed down in recent weeks as her big day approaches.
The 29-year-old ‘adores’ the ring and ‘didn’t want to cause a fuss’, but had found the band was turning on her finger, a royal source told the newspaper.
The source added: ‘A bride’s worst nightmare is looking down and seeing her ring has fallen off’.
‘One can only imagine how this is magnified when you are marrying the future King of England.’
A Clarence House spokesman declined to comment on Wednesday’s claim.
The engagement band, which was also Princess Diana’s engagement ring, is valued at ?32million because of its famous history.
Prince William gave the ring to Kate to ensure his late mother Diana would still be part of their big day when the couple marry later this month.
On Monday, the couple visited Lancashire in their last joint engagement before their wedding day.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Kate is a bigger fashion icon than Lady Gaga and Cheryl Cole in a poll of 2,000 women across the UK.
