Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi has imposed ban on transmitting bulk Short Message Services (SMS) of political nature during the period of 48 hours ending with the hours fixed for conclusion of poll i.e. 5:00 p.m. of May 5 to 5:00 p.m of May 7.
According to DIPR, the RO in an order warned that violation of the order shall be treated as a major default and shall be liable to penal action under the provisions of Election law.
She has appealed to all concerned to strictly comply with the order.
