Rehabilitation camp
DIMAPUR: A five-day rehabilitation camp for disabled persons under ADPI scheme for Kohima District concluded Friday at Naga Hospital Kohima (NHAK). The rehabilitation camp was organized by district level committee for disability where deputy commissioner, Kohima, Bei-u Angami is the Chairman and other members also include medical superintendent, NHAK, district welfare officer, Kohima and other officers. The committee had collaborated with National Institute for Orthopaedically handicapped, Kolkata under the ministry of social justice & empowerment, Government of India and IRCS/DDRC Collaborative center, Dimapur, Nagaland.
NNC ‘separated’
DIMAPUR: The NNC regional officials, CEC members, advisors and senior leaders have declared the “total separation between the NNC set up.” The MIP NNC stated that V. Nagi was also expelled from the Naga National service on April 6, 2011 on ground of violation of NNC Yehzabo articles nos. 22, 28, & 37, respectively for indulging in anti-national activities and applying the divide and rule policies to the people. NNC also pointed out that during his tenure, there was no government machinery in the NNC set up and therefore appealed Nagi not to come up with paper war upon the NNC government any more, “for we have already carrying out the reformation of the NNC for smooth running and betterment of the Government.” Meanwhile, the NNC said it supported to the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) to bring peace and unity in the Naga Homeland
Moatsu festival at Peren: Peren Town Ao Union would be celebrating Moatsu festival on May 3,10am on the theme “Tapet Sobaliba” (Relevant culture). The programme would be conducted by the office bearers. K.Tali Jamir TO, Peren would be the speaker. All citizens and in-laws of Ao’s in Peren town have been requested to attend the celebration.
Prohibition order on electioneering: Deputy Commissioner & Returning Officer Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi has issued prohibitory order on public meeting, electioneering or campaign in any form and manner during the period of 48 hours ending with hour fixed for conclusion of poll i.e., from 5pm on May 5, 5pm on May 7. DC & RO in the order stated any person who contravenes the provisions of the Act would be punishable according to the relevant election law.
NUVC youth to keep night vigil: Taking note of the occurring burglary, looting and intimidation in the jurisdiction of Naga united village, youth of Naga united village would be keeping night vigil starting 9pm. Naga united village chairman Bole Shijoh has requested neighbouring villagers to cooperate with the youth.
Consultative meeting: Consultative meeting at Peren would be held on May 2 from 11a.m under the chairmanship of Dr. Shourhozelie, minister for urban development with regard to 33% reservation for women town council election etc. In this connection, DC Peren has requested Zeliang Baudi, Kuki Inpi, Seliangrong Mipui Organisation, Kuki Mothers association, Traders union, Jalukie, Peren, advisory board members, Peren and JAlukie town, all heads of the department under Peren district to attend the meeting.
VBS teachers training: Vacation Bible School (VBS) leadership or teachers training would be held on June 7 to 12 at Life Spring Corner, Dimapur. All Churches and associations have been requested to send their leaders or teachers for training with full sponsorship. Further trainees have been informed to reach the venue on June 7 at 11am. Registration would start from 11am to 2:30pm and orientation from 3pm to 5pm. Meanwhile, registration fees would be Rs.200, fooding and lodging Rs.800 and application form of Rs.50 and VBS materials would also be available.
Career guidance program: Mezoma Welfare Forum and Mezoma Students Union would be jointly organizing a career guidance programme on May 5, 9:30am at Red Cross conference hall, Kohima. Neivikuolie Khatsii, lecturer will be the first session speaker on the topic ‘arts and general studies’ and Er Visalhoulie Krose as the second session speaker on the topic ‘science and technical studies. All members who have appeared HSLC, HSSLC and all students of class X, XI and XII have been requested to attend the programme.
CCO meeting: Chakhesang Cultural Organization has convened a meeting on May 11, 4pm at Hotel Japfii Kohima to deliberate some important topics of traditional culture. All members, minister and MLAs, ex-ministers and ex-MLAs, office bearers of Chakhesang gazatted CMA, president CWWS, president attire committee, CPO office bearers, advisors and office bearer of CCRI and CCO office bearers and area public organization have been requested to attend the meeting.
KASU executive meeting: Khaghaboto Area Students’ Union (KASU) has convened its executive meeting on April 30, 11am at the banker’s residence, Khaghaboto town. All executive members have been requested to attend the meeting.
Clarification on attempted murder case: Drawing attention on the news item, ‘Metha Thinuo Krotho (MTK) condemns life attempt,’ published in this daily on April 29, wherein the name of one Avizo Richa of Jakhama village was mentioned as an accused, a certain lecturer also named as Avizo Richa of the same village clarified that the person named was not him. In this regard, the lecturer has asked the MTK to provide all necessary details of the person they were mentioning so as to clear misconceptions and that his image was not tarnished in the eye of the public.
FTC 2nd graduation ceremony: Faith Theological College (FTC), Ura Villa Colony, Circuit house area, Dimapur conducted its 2nd graduation ceremony on April 20 at town hall with K Hocto Kinimi IFS, conservator of forest, southern territorial circle, Nagaland as the chief guest and Rev Dr V K Nuh, general secretary, Council of Naga Baptist Churches (CNBC) as the guest speaker. Altogether 24 students were conferred B.Th/M.Div & M.Th degrees.
Sterilization camps held: Sterilization camps was conducted at Peren district and Tening, Athibung, Jalukie and Peren blocks on October 2010, 24, 25 and March 31 2011 respectively with the sponsorship by National Rural Health Mission, Nagaland. Altogether 66 lap ligation operations were performed during the camps. Dr. Renponthung Kikon, SMO, district hospital Peren and Dr. Newto, MO district hospital Dimapur along with the team conducted operations in block health centre.
20th ACCC Meluri welcomes: The 20th ACCC Meluri has welcomed NPF party leaders of Meluri village Kuothosie, village council secretary and Zusupa GB who resigned from NPF party and joined the Congress party on April 26 to strengthen the party under the leadership of S. I. Jamir, president NPCC, Tokheho, leader of opposition NLA and Riesoupa Kajiri, president 20th ACCC Meluri. According to Lowthow Issac, general secretary (admn) of the constituency, the resigned NPF leaders in their letter stated they lost confidence in rule of NPF led DAN government as they have misruled the state for the last couple of years and left the people in a jigsaw puzzle.
Army clarifies on TA recruitment: With reference to news items “TA recruitment unfair” published in this daily on April 28, Commanding Officer, 164 TA Bn (Naga) clarified that no favouritism was done during the recruitment rally. It said the army had followed the instructions and guidelines of recruitment process strictly in the presence of army officials as well as state officials. “The Army has carried out very fair system of recruitment and no short cut or favouritism has been shown to any individual as mentioned in the news items”, said the Army while assuring the people of Nagaland that the Army would not take any steps which favours any section of people.
GPRN/NSCN recover 2 two wheelers: Crime Control Cell (CCC), GPRN/NSCN, has kept two bikes in their custody bearing Chassis no. DDFBKC78072, Engine no. DMDKC39050 and chassis no 1F95A82091, Engine no. 31M95A83350 respectively. Rightful owners have been informed to produce proper documents and claim it through 9436003778 within a period of five days. The bikes would be confiscated on expiry of the time period, informed the GPRN/NSCN.
GPRN/NSCN medical ministry lauds medical team: GPRN/NSCN medical ministry secretary Atovi Chophy expressed gratitude to Dr. Kavito Zhimomi, medical in-charge, Niuland Sub-division, and his team members who conducted a free medical check-up at designated camp Khehoi, on April 29. Many Naga Army personnel and civil workers were given vaccinations, underwent blood tests and briefed on various health issues by the team and also sprayed anti-malaria agents within the designated camp.
GPRN/NSCN ‘leacy’ member reinstated: The Termination order of GPRN/NSCN ‘leacy’ member Sekhaba Sangtam, son of Thsatricho Sangtam, Hailing from Yingphir, Unoted Sangtam Region, issued from the office of ‘kilo secretary’ on January 27-31has been revoked as per memo no. KILO/55/2011-12. GPRN/NSCN informed that his reinstatement has taken into effect from April 26.
Stolen motorcycle recovered: Acting on an FIR lodged at West police station about the loss of a motorcycle bring R/No. NLo7E 3892 from Faith Hospital area, Dimapur police personnel recovered the stolen motorcycle from Singrijan village on 28/04/2011 from the possession of one Hutoi Surni, s/o Novin Sumi and residing at Diphupar B village Dimapur. A case has been registered in this connection, stated the Police.
