The 1st annual fashion show 2011 of The Global Open University Nagaland (TGOUN) in association with North East Zonal Culture Centre took place on Friday evening at The Heritage Kohima.
The show was held under the theme “Naga Western Fusion” with Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu, minister for higher and technical education and urban development as the special guest.
In his address, Dr. Shurhozelie was delighted that Nagas were finally venturing into the fashion industry seriously and congratulated The Global Open University Nagaland (TGOUN) for starting the three year course in BBA Fashion Design.
While urging the youth to be at par with rest of world, he however reminded them not to forget their traditional cultural values.
A fashion show, a collection by the students of BBA Fashion design was also witnessed during the function.
The function was chaired by Imotemsu Ao, director, TGOUN.
