Medicine worth `1.5 lakh distributed at health camp

Over 400 patients were on Tuesday provided free health check-up and medicines at the day-long multi-specialty free health camp at premises of the Ao Baptist Church, Diphupar (ABCD) here.
The health camp was organised by the youth department of ABCD in association with Kornelia mission to commemorate its 41st foundation day.
In Tuesday’s camp around nine doctors and several nurses and pharmacies tended to patients and offered free medicines worth over `1.5 lakh.
Besides health check-up, free blood grouping, free typhoid test, blood sugar test and malaria were also carried out. Also, blood donation drive was carried out under the supervision of Dimapur Blood Bank in-charge Dr. Temsu. Altogether 200 blood groupings, 100 blood sugar, 70 malaria and typhoid tests were conducted and six units of blood were harvested.
Doctors from Christian Institute of Health Sciences & Research (CIHSR), District Hospital, Dimapur, Police Referral Hospital, Chumukedima and dental surgeon treated the patients. Later, some of the doctors also visited ten patients at their respective residences who could not attend due to ill health.
The team of doctors, who rendered free services, included Dr. Imn?ks?ngba Longk?mer, Dr. Amenla Longk?mer, Dr. T.Tems? Ao, Dr. Tems?la Alinger, Dr. Ak?mtoshi (pediatrics), Dr. Sentin?kla Lemtur, Dr. Nokdang (orthopedics) and Dr. Sunepla Longchar (dental).
Meanwhile, the church has expressed gratitude to all the responsible doctors, nurses, pharmacies and medicine distributors for their services and making the health camp successful.
