State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Nagaland, Kohima conducted training of TOTs on psychological counseling for school children by vocational guidance and counseling cell on April 25 and 26 at SCERT Kohima. Altogether 41 TOTs participated in the training from Kohima, Wokha, Phek and Kiphire districts. Vipralhou Kesiezie, director SCERT while addressing the participants emphasized the need for equipping teachers in the skills of counseling so as to deal with problems faced in the school. The trainees were trained on counseling and application of psychological principles in the process of solving behavioral problems faced by children in the school. At the end of the training the trainees were sent to GHSS Kohima for practical. The participants have meanwhile expressed gratitude to the department, particularly Shilu Ao, R.O. and Zavise Rume, TRA, SCERT who were the resource persons.
