Acting on a tip off, Dimapur police recovered a goods carrier truck and arrested seven persons at Chumukedima check gate on Tuesday.
According to police, the truck bearing registration number AS-18 8912, was recovered after an FIR lodged was lodged by the owner, Fazal Haque that his goods carrier truck was stolen from Goalpara, Assam on May 9 by unknown miscreants and suspected to have been brought to Nagaland for disposal. The truck was on its way to Manipur when police personnel manning Chumukedima check gate intercepted and arrested all the occupants of the truck.
They were identified as M. Shahjahan Ali (28), Hamid (26), Shahalam Islam (24), Adbul Hauque (48), Azzad Ali (27), Sattar Ali Sheik (23) and Sukar Ali (24). After observing necessary formalities, the arrested persons were forwarded to Goalpara police station.
